Monday Morning Motivation

Get up, and get moving towards your dreams. The High 5 Habit kept me company for a few days, and each day was worth it. Mel Robbins always does a great job of lighting the fire inside of you with her books and audiobooks, but she stepped it up with this one.

Mel takes you through a series of stories that allow you to think about what your big life looks like, and how to get there with the High 5 Habit. If you haven’t guessed it already, Mel’s approach to setting your self up for next level success, starts with giving yourself a high five. Every. Day.

I felt a little silly about the idea of high fiving myself, which is why I did it mentally. You can skip the physical high fiving and look deep into the wisdom that Mel is trying to impart:

  • Everything that you have experienced has set you up for something greater.
  • You can manifest anything if you manipulate your RAS (Reticular Activating System) to work for you. (Check out the book to learn more on this, you’ve got do some of the work, right? 😉
  • Think about how good you’ll feel in those moments of anxiety when you respond to those anxious signals with this practice: Put your hand over your heart and tell yourself, “I’m okay. I’m safe. I’m loved.”
